Managing Director

Julia worked for many years in a range of service providers prior to joining sigma. She has undertaken a number of change roles at Director Level with responsibilities including Operations, Business Effectiveness and Sales and Marketing. Her strong focus on customer service and delivery is balanced with practical commercial awareness.

Specific assignments have involved:

  • Benefit Realisation Management consultancy, coaching, and skills transfer for the British Council. Using a variety of remote and direct interactions to create momentum for a consistent Global Benefit Realisation Management approach. Benefits led support for the groundwork to a Portfolio Management approach.
  • Leadership of the Benefit Identification and Knowledge Transfer work stream for the National Policing Improvement Agency’s Mobile Information Programme. Development & roll-out of consistent local force based benefit planning activity based on a National set of Generic tools and profiles. Interacting effectively with tracking and measurement work stream to ensure validity of benefits reporting.
  • Change management support and advice within the Metropolitan Police Force’s C3i programme. Development of benefits led dashboard reporting for key project in a challenging stakeholder environment. Planning and implementation for seamless transition to Business as Usual.
  • Developing Benefit Management tools for the Centre of Excellence of the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
  • At the same time facilitating benefits analysis for four key ONS IT programmes in response to an urgent Treasury initiative. The result has been the immediate implementation of cross programme synergies for which both the multi-million pound benefits. The risks to vital statistical benefits are clear, measurable, and owned by key stakeholders.
  • Ongoing activity includes scoping of the Benefit Realisation Plan for Census 2011. The technical outputs of this programme have potential to drive significant benefits for other government departments in addition to the statistical benefits planned.
  • Advice & support to the Benefit Realisation and Business Change Planning for Cambridge Constabulary’s deployment of NSPIS Custody and Case & Preparation. Activities including benefit mapping, stakeholder management and base lining.
  • Account Management for the team of sigma consultants establishing Benefit Mapping as a key tool within the Benefit Realisation Planning for the Home Office Forward Programme (National Identity Cards). Working to create momentum and continuity of approach for the change plans and reporting of multiple stakeholder groups and to provide overview for the programme itself. Assignment included transfer of skills to the Forward Programme team.
  • Coaching the Change Team of Friends Provident in the development of a Benefit Realisation Plan (Including Benefit Dependency Maps) for their culture change. Programme level training in Benefits Management and benefits workshop facilitation skills provided momentum whilst the change team developed their skill set.
  • Programme launch activity for a multi-national manufacturing organisation seeking to achieve significant cultural change to align to shrinking markets. Development activity from this piece of work included coaching and review in the UK as well as initiation of benefit-led events overseas.
  • As Managing Director of a private walk-in medical practice, changed the structure, communication channels and retail approach to ensure commercial success without compromising medical integrity and quality of delivery.
