Introduction

Benefit-Led Prioritisation

Making decisions on resourcing priorities is difficult at all levels.  It is even more challenging to ensure that strategic priorities are understood and implemented consistently throughout your organisation.  For some organisations sophisticated prioritisation processes are business-critical , for others disciplined simplicity is more appropriate.  Which is best for your organisation? If you are not clear—or don’t know the best way to achieve it, this session has been designed to help.

Benefits of attending

An experienced benefits practitioner facilitates gallery presentations, table top exercises and discussions with your peers from other  organisations.  The session will help you outline a clear vision of the appropriate future prioritisation processes in your organisation.

 In particular to

· describe your prioritisation processes in terms of the decision making needs of the organisation.

· decide which of the principal tools determining  ‘benefit delivery confidence’ are being utilised in your organisation—and which you should aspire to use.

· prioritise actions to create immediate improvements in quality and consistency of prioritisation, whilst also planning for the future

Managing the Measurements of Benefits

Measurement consumes significant resource—and yet much of it is wasted.  Leaders of change are often making decisions on the basis of  information relating to the delivery of  capability (time, cost, quality) rather than to the realisation of benefits.  In these organisations managing the development of good  quality information on benefits is a pivotal role.  For maximum impact the improvements in benefits   information will be ‘pulled’  by improvements in benefit-led decision making.  This session will help to clarify your  vision for the way forward and maximise your influence on the decision makers.

Benefits of attending

An experienced benefits practitioner facilitates gallery presentations, table top exercises and discussions with your peers from other  organisations.  The session will help you to plan     immediate and effective improvements to your management of measurement, and to influence your organisation’s decision makers to make best use of the information provided.   In       particular to

· use internal and externally focused outcome based agreements to demonstrate effective ways of working to decision makers

· expand the principles of managing measurement into tools for creating consistent disciplined information

· inform a gap analysis of the capability and capacity   for improving measurement within your organisation
